Supervisor Diploma Pathway

ADAS has developed a process which allows ADAS onshore supervisors who hold a partial Diploma of Hyperbaric Operations (Diving supervision) to gain a full Diploma by completing a program consisting of logged on-the-job experience and online learning in conjunction with ADAS assessments.

In recent years, to meet the requirements of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), ADAS found it necessary to modify the way in which it now delivers the Diploma of Hyperbaric Operations (Diving supervision) to onshore supervisor applicants.  The new program allows for more time to learn the broader skills related to effective supervision within the workplace and covers assessment of skills best demonstrated and consolidated with on-the-job experience as well as reinforcing existing knowledge and introducing some new concepts.

Candidates who have completed the face-to-face supervisor course since the changes were implemented in 2016 have received the ADAS supervisor card to allow them to undertake work as a supervisor.  In addition, they have received certification to show partial completion of a Diploma of Hyperbaric Operations (Diving supervision).

ADAS has developed a process which allows ADAS onshore supervisors who hold a partial Diploma of Hyperbaric Operations (Diving supervision) to gain a full Diploma by completing a structured workplace-based learning program.  Applicants will be required to obtain workplace experience as a dive supervisor, complete a workbook and an online learning program, maintain a dive supervisor’s logbook and undertake a final theory assessment which is arranged directly with ADAS.

Supervisors who are interested in undertaking this process are not required to return to an ADAS training facility for any further training and assessment and can work at their own pace with the final assessment arranged through the ADAS head office.

A summary of the process to gain a full supervisor certification (from diver through to supervisor) is shown in the Supervisor Diploma Pathway document.

Please contact ADAS for more information if you are interested in applying for a full Diploma of Hyperbaric Operations (Diving supervision).
