­Work Safe Victoria, NOPSEMA and IMCA have recently released safety alerts relating to occupational diving incidents.

WorkSafe Victoria, issued a Hyperbaric Chambers Safety Alert in response to a serious incident which occurred earlier this year during the operation of a single person (monoplace) hyperbaric chamber. It provides general guidance about the safe operation and use of single person hyperbaric chambers.

NOPSEMA
National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) have released Safety Alert 62 detailing a recent incident where a vessel lost position while diving activities were being conducted approximately 130 metres from a hydrocarbon facility offshore Western Australia.
IMCA
IMCA’s Safety Flash 20/16 highlights incidents relating to the unplanned or inappropriate release of divers’ helmets, a differential pressure fatality, the failure of links which in turn led to the loss of lift bags, and a near miss incident, relating to failure of umbilicals.
