IMCA has published two new Guidance documents: the first provides information and guidance on the provision, acceptance and handling of breathing gases for diving, the second on protecting divers during underwater excavations. Additionally, IMCA Contractor Members are invited to submit Safety Statistics for 2022.
ADAS Schools Update
There have recently been changes to ADAS training facilities with one school expanding into Western Australia and another no longer offering ADAS training courses.
ADAS Training Now Available in Western Australia
As ADAS training schools continue to respond to industry feedback and extend their training locations, you can now access commercial diver training on both the East and West coast of Australia. Please contact the individual schools to find out more:
- Launceston, Tasmania
- Lake Collie, Western Australia
- Orpheus Island, Queensland
- Burra, South Australia
Professional Divers Training Academy
- Melbourne, Victoria
- Sydney, New South Wales
- Gold Coast, Queensland
Medical Training Solutions No Longer Delivering ADAS Training
Medical Training Solutions (MTS), located in Perth, Western Australia, is no longer delivering ADAS accredited Diver Medical Technician (DMT) training. As of 8 February 2023, MTS elected to opt-out of continuing as an Accredited Training Establishment (ATE) and are no longer available to students wishing to undertake either full or refresher DMT courses.
Although this reduces the number of DMT training facilities, there continue to be two schools in Australia delivering ADAS DMT full and refresher courses:
- Commercial Dive Academy in Launceston, Tasmania
- Underwater Training Centre SA in Burra, South Australia
