Congratulations to Ian Milliner, OAM
ADAS extends its congratulations to Ian Milliner on being awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in July 2026, for services to diver training and accreditation.
Ian served on the ADAS Board of Directors for eleven years, from 2012 to 2023, including as Chair of the Board for six years from 2017 to 2023.
Ian, known to many as Milly, played an instrumental role in the development, implementation and maintenance of the ADAS accredited training systems that today are globally recognised for their high standards and focus on training divers and supervisors to work safely and effectively onshore and offshore.
As the managing director and lead trainer at The Underwater Centre Fremantle (TUCF) from 1996 to 2014, Milly oversaw the training of hundreds of divers and dive supervisors, who took their skills into the Australasian diving sector and beyond.
As well as his many active years in the commercial and recreational diving sectors as a trainer, diver and administrator, Milly’s career has encompassed defense clearance diving, international business management and Directorships, including involvement in the creation of the Navy Clearance Diver Trust.
ADAS is proud to be associated with Milly and applaud his receiving this honour.
