The December 2025 issue of The Regulator, published by NOPSEMA, contains two key updates for hyperbaric workers. The first is the release of updated Diving Guidelines, and the second brings focus to the importance of regulating psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
International Day for Women in Maritime
Celebrated annually under the auspices of the International Marine Organisation (IMO), May 18 2026 marks the International Day for Women in Maritime. The theme for 2026 and 2027 is From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence.

To mark the occasion, an event will take place on 18 May 2026, featuring the presentation of the 2026 IMO Gender Equality Award, and aligning with the World Maritime Day theme “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence.”
Within the historically male dominated seafaring and maritime industries, the IMO has been making a concerted effort to help the industry move forward and support women to achieve a representation that is in keeping with twenty-first century expectations.
