Offshore Safety Review – Have Your Say!

The Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DIIS) has continued its Offshore Safety Review and invites people from within the industry to participate in public consultation.  This is an ideal opportunity to have your say!

The review began in mid 2018 and is part of the Department’s regulatory continuous improvement process.  It is anticipated the the current Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Safety) Regulations 2009 will be phased out in 2020.  As stated on the Safety Review website, the review “aims to ensure the current safety regime continues to provide an effective, leading-practice framework for securing the health, safety and welfare of workers.”  Part of this process involves the consultation of people from within the industry.

The consultation phase will be available until the 23rd of July 2019, you can gain provide your input through the DIIS Consultation Hub.
