On Friday the 15th of September, ADAS advised via it’s website the closure of The Underwater Centre Tasmania (TUCT) due to liquidation, which occurred the previous day. While certifications already issued by ADAS for students trained at TUCT will not be affected in any way, there are some students who have been directly affected by the sudden and unexpected closure.
ADAS has been in discussions with the liquidator and the TUCT parent company – The Underwater Centre – based in Scotland, and also with the affected students. The objective of these discussions has been to establish a solution for the impacted students and ideally one that continues to allow the students to attain ADAS certification.
It is with pleasure that we are now able to announce that we are able to offer many of the students alternative training options; some of which will commence immediately.
While ADAS, the liquidators, or The Under Water Centre have contacted many of the affected students, there are some who we have been unable to reach. If you are one of the students mentioned above, we urge you to contact ADAS as soon as possible so we can work with you to find a suitable solution.
